Coming together as a team, let's take a moment to pause (10 secs), and let's begin with a quote from...
Sirach 6:14-16 - "Faithful friends are a sturdy shelter; whoever finds one finds a treasure. Faithful friends are beyond price, no amount can balance their worth. Faithful friends are life-saving medicine; those who fear God will find them."
and from
St. Vincent de Paul - "Dear brothers and sisters, I pray God may open your eyes and let you see what hidden treasures he bestows on us in the trials from which the world thinks only to flee."
These quotes show the value of Commitment. Commitment is a great way to live Compassion, making it real in our lives today! So, as we reflect today, let's refresh our memories on the meaning of Compassion, and take a closer look at how Commitment brings it to life.
Compassion
Compassion means, Service in a spirit of empathy, love, and concern
We know there are many ways to live Compassion; so let's focus on just one, Commitment.
So let's ask ourselves this question...
How does the mission motivate me through challenges?
I'd like to invite us all to make Commitment a reality in our lives today by...
Embracing challenges with a loving response.
Commitment isn't new to CHRISTUS Health, in fact, we see this same type of Compassion in our heritage...
At Christus Shreveport Bossier, when short staffed, we have an associate that moves from role to role with ease. Late one evening, she was notified that there were two emergent cases at the same time and they needed her help. She never hesitated but came immediately to cover the emergent need which helped save the life of the patient.
