Coming together as a team, let's take a moment to pause (10 secs), and let's begin with a quote from...
2 Corinthians 9: 6-7 Consider this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each must do as already determined, without sadness or compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
and from
Carol Ryrie Brink The most truly generous persons are those who give silently without hope of praise or reward.
These quotes show the value of Gratitude. Gratitude is a great way to live Compassion, making it real in our lives today! So, as we reflect today, let's refresh our memories on the meaning of Compassion, and take a closer look at how Gratitude brings it to life.
Compassion
Compassion means, Service in a spirit of empathy, love, and concern
We know there are many ways to live Compassion; so let's focus on just one, Gratitude.
So, let's ask ourselves this question...
Has gratitude led me to be more compassionate toward others?
I'd like to invite us all to make Gratitude a reality in our lives today by...
Generously giving what I have received.
Gratitude isn't new to CHRISTUS Health, in fact, we see this same type of Compassion in our heritage...
At Christus Santa Rosa, an associate is always working on her spiritual life and it shows. She takes interest in her coworkers and is quick to pray with them when there is an issue. She doesn't forget about prayer needs and checks back to see if the situation has been resolved or needs more prayer. She is such a blessing to see each day and makes the hospital that much better, just being herself and giving what she treasures most.
