Opening Prayer

Coming together as a team, let's take a moment to pause (10 secs), and let's begin with a quote from...

Psalm 66:16  Come and hear, all you who fear God, while I recount what has been done for me.

and from

Julie Hebert  Life is filled with treasures.  Be grateful and be humble, and share them with someone.

These quotes show the value of Courtesy. Courtesy is a great way to live Dignity, making it real in our lives today! So, as we reflect today, let's refresh our memories on the meaning of Dignity, and take a closer look at how Courtesy brings it to life.

Core Value

Dignity

Dignity means, Respect for the worth of every person, recognition and commitment to the value of diverse individuals and perspectives, and special concerns for the poor and underserved.

We know there are many ways to live Dignity; so let's focus on just one, Courtesy.

Let's Reflect

So, let's ask ourselves this question...

How does knowing a person's story affect me?

Let's Act

I'd like to invite us all to make Courtesy a reality in our lives today by...

Asking people to share their story.

Did You Know?

Courtesy isn't new to CHRISTUS Health, in fact, we see this same type of Dignity in our heritage...

At Christus Good Shepherd, we have an associate who sees others as "people in progress". When someone has a crisis, she is regularly checking on them and praying for them out of her beautiful heart. She cares deeply for each person and listens to their story, regardless of how they have been on their worst days. She truly loves like Jesus.

Closing Prayer

Father, You have made us free to live our own story. That brings with it, many ups and downs which have shaped our lives. Thank you for that freedom and for never abandoning me on that path. Help me appreciate and learn from every person's story and personal journey with you. Amen.
