Opening Prayer

Coming together as a team, let's take a moment to pause (10 secs), and let's begin with a quote from...

Romans 1: 11-12  I long to see you, that I may share with you some spiritual gift so that you may be strengthened, that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by one another’s faith, yours and mine.

and from

Tom Ridge  You have to enable and empower people to make decisions independent of you.  As I've learned, each person on a team is an extension of your leadership; if they feel empowered by you they will magnify your power to lead.  Trust is a great force multiplier.

These quotes show the value of Wisdom. Wisdom is a great way to live Dignity, making it real in our lives today! So, as we reflect today, let's refresh our memories on the meaning of Dignity, and take a closer look at how Wisdom brings it to life.

Dignity means, Respect for the worth of every person, recognition and commitment to the value of diverse individuals and perspectives, and special concerns for the poor and underserved.

We know there are many ways to live with Dignity; so let's focus on just one, Empowerment.

Let's Reflect

So, let's ask ourselves this question...

Let's Act

I'd like to invite us all to make Empowerment a reality in our lives today by...

Encouraging others to voice their concerns.

Did You Know?

Empowerment isn't new to CHRISTUS Health, in fact, we see this same type of Dignity in our heritage...

At Christus Good Shepherd, one of our associates makes sure that patients who struggle to manage their healthcare, understand their challenges. He explains testing, medications, and treatments and then takes his time to make sure his patients are understanding. This makes it possible for them to voice their questions or concerns.

Closing Prayer

Heavenly Father, Help me to encourage others, affirm them in their dignity and empower them to freely speak up about their needs. I pray that I can guide them in making prudent decisions regarding their care and give them the ongoing support they need. Amen.
