Coming together as a team, let's take a moment to pause (10 secs), and let's begin with a quote from..
James 1: 17- "Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers: all good giving and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights."
And from..
Voltaire- "Appreciation is a wonderful thing: It makes what is excellent in others belong to us as well."
These quotes show the value of Being Mindful. Being Mindful is a great way to live Stewardship, making it real in our lives today! So, as we reflect today, let's refresh our memories on the meaning of Stewardship, and take a closer look at how Being Mindful brings it to life.
Stewardship
Stewardship means, Wise and just use of talents and resources in a collaborative manner.
We know there are many ways to live Stewardship; so let's focus on just one, Being Mindful.
So, let's ask ourselves this question ...
What talents do I see in our team? Pause 20sec before moving on.
I'd like to invite us all to make Being Mindful a reality in our lives today by...
Saying a short prayer of gratitude to God when I notice another's gifts.
Being Mindful isn't new to CHRISTUS Health, in fact, we see this same type of Stewardship in our heritage...
Did you know that Luke, the gospel writer, was also a physician and a talented artist? He used his skills as a physician to help the poor and underserved, and he also used his artistic talents to create beautiful works of art that would inspire others. He reminds us that we all have talents we can use to help others.
Father, Thank you for the blessings you have given to me and the people in my life. Help us to work as one, each bringing our unique gifts and talents. I know everything good comes from you. Thank you ahead of time for continuing to bless our team and this important work of mercy. Amen.
