Coming together as a team, let's take a moment to pause (10 secs), and let's begin with a quote from...
Hebrews 13:18 - "Pray for us, for we are sure that we have a clear conscience, desiring to act honorably in all things."
and from
Steve Shallenberger - "You steadily grow into becoming your best as you choose to be accountable and accept responsibility for improvement."
These quotes show the value of Commitment. Commitment is a great way to live Stewardship, making it real in our lives today! So, as we reflect today, let's refresh our memories on the meaning of Stewardship, and take a closer look at how Commitment brings it to life.
Stewardship
Stewardship means, Wise and just use of talents and resources in a collaborative manner.
We know there are many ways to live Stewardship; so let's focus on just one, Commitment.
So let's ask ourselves this question...
Do I consider myself partly responsible for the mission of my team?
I'd like to invite us all to make Commitment a reality in our lives today by...
Holding myself accountable for my work.
Commitment isn't new to CHRISTUS Health, in fact, we see this same type of Stewardship in our heritage...
At Christus Good Shepherd, we have an associate that always holds herself accountable. If she tells a patient that she will give them an exercise printout before they leave, and forgets to give it to them, she will make sure they get a phone call and apologizes. She will then leave the exercise printouts at the front for the patients to pick up later. She does not give herself a pass or make excuses.
