Coming together as a team, let's take a moment to pause (10 secs), and let's begin with a quote from...
Luke 8: 24- "They came and woke him saying, Master, master, we are perishing! He awakened, rebuked the wind and the waves, and they subsided and there was a calm."
And from...
Helen Keller- "Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much."
These quotes show the value of Resilience. Resilience is a great way to live Stewardship, making it real in our lives today! So, as we reflect today, let's refresh our memories on the meaning of Stewardship, and take a closer look at how Resilience brings it to life.
Stewardship
Stewardship means, Wise and just use of talents and resources in a collaborative manner.
We know there are many ways to live Stewardship; so let's focus on just one, Resilience.
Resilience
Resilience means, The ability to withstand adversity and bounce back from difficulties.
So, let's ask ourselves this question...
Do I rely on my team to help me work through unexpected changes? Pause 20 sec before moving on.
I'd like to invite us all to make Resilience a reality in our lives today by...
Asking for clarification when needed and trusting my team.
Resilience isn't new to CHRISTUS Health, in fact, we see this same type of Stewardship in our heritage...
Did you know that a Facilities Manager at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa, responded with resilience to an unexpected change? The cardiac rehabilitation department was in the process of replacing three treadmills. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the new treadmills could not be delivered for several months. The current treadmills were at end of life and no parts were available. He managed to find used parts and repaired or replaced parts, as necessary. There was minimal to no disruption in our day-to-day workflow.
