At Christus Good Shepherd, an associate can often be seen in the room of a grieving family. He may be holding someone's hand or praying with them. Once he was called because a patient's care was being withdrawn. He stayed with the patient's wife because she did not have any family and he did not want her to be left alone.
Jesus, You are the divine physician who offers healing those we serve. I believe that you are intimately involved in the life of each person. You have called me to extend your healing mission. Grant me the grace to be able to hold someone's hand and help alleviate their suffering. Amen.
