Coming together as a team, let's take a moment to pause (10 secs), and let's begin with a quote from...
Psalm 16:1-2- "Keep me safe, O God; in you I take refuge. I say to the LORD, you are my Lord, you are my only good."
And from...
St. Faustina- "I will not allow myself to be so absorbed in the whirlwind of work as to forget about God."
These quotes show the value of Being Mindful. Being Mindful is a great way to live Compassion, making it real in our lives today! So, as we reflect today, let's refresh our memories on the meaning of Compassion, and take a closer look at how Being Mindful brings it to life.
Compassion
Compassion means, Service in a spirit of empathy, love, and concern
We know there are many ways to live Compassion; so let's focus on just one, Being Mindful.
So, let's ask ourselves this question...
Do the many distractions that come my way effect quality care? Pause 20sec before moving on.
I'd like to invite us all to make Being Mindful a reality in our lives today by...
Keeping concern for others safety as my first priority.
Being Mindful isn't new to CHRISTUS Health, in fact, we see this same type of Compassion in our heritage...
Did you know that recently a social worker at one of our hospitals was caring for a patient who had just lost a loved one? Having a strong sense of personal spirituality, he was able to sit with the patient and listen to them talk about their grief. This was exactly what the patient needed in the moment to cope and to begin the process of healing.
