Coming together as a team, let's take a moment to pause (10 secs), and let's begin with a quote from...
Matthew 25:40 - "Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me."
And from...
Bill Johnson - "There's something about valuing people not because they value you but because you can see God in them."
These quotes show the value of Respecting others. Respect is a great way to live Dignity, making it real in our lives today! So, as we reflect today, let's refresh our memories on the meaning of Dignity, and take a closer look at how Respect brings it to life.
Dignity
Dignity means, Respect for the worth of every person, recognition and commitment to the value of diverse individuals and perspectives, and special concerns for the poor and underserved.
We know there are many ways to live Dignity; so let's focus on just one, Respect.
So let's ask ourselves this question ...
What is it about my patient or coworker that inspires me? Pause 10-20 sec before moving on.
I'd like to invite us all to make Respect a reality in our lives today by...
Discovering one way to show respect to a patient or coworker.
Respect isn't new to CHRISTUS Health, in fact, we see this same type of Dignity in our heritage...
Did you know that we can all tell if we are respected? It's a feeling you get that is unspoken. It is being welcomed, heard, valued. The sisters who began this ministry were the embrace of respect for those in need of healing. Just like when Mother Frances Hospital opened a day early to embrace its community after suffering the New London school explosion.
